Woodbridge Hill Hideaway lies right in the heart of two of Tasmania’s best-known food, wine and produce regions – the Channel and the Huon Valley.
Thirty-eight kilometres south of Hobart, Woodbridge sits on the shores of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel at Peppermint Bay. Full of rolling hills and small farms, the area produces a bounty of apples and stone-fruit and is well known for its Atlantic salmon farms.
Lunch at Peppermint Bay or Fleurty’s in Woodbridge? Or maybe dinner at the Oyster Cove Inn in nearby Kettering or Red Velvet Lounge in Cygnet? Or create your own gourmet meal in the comfort of your own cabin, with a glass or two of champagne, fresh salmon and seafood from Peppermint Bay, a choice of cheeses from Grandvewe sheep’s cheesery and the freshest of fruit and vegetables from any number of roadside stalls in the region. Kettering, only 10 minutes away, is the departure point for the ferry to take you to Bruny Island.
